With a name like Came Down, it has to be walked upon (it appeals to my sense of humour).
I timed it right for a painting. As I set off from the edge of Dorchester down a
very ordinary field path, I didn’t hope for much. But as walks so often do, that
all changed and I entered a more interesting tunnel of trees. And in that tunnel
there were several blossom trees that had spread their tiny petals of various hues
on the ground, providing pathway edges that became blurred and indistinct. Just the
kind of image I find fascinating. The petals soaked into the pathway. The path nibbled
into the softer borders sprinkled with blossom like the aftermath of a wedding.
